20 years ago, I was a humble construction worker. My master put me to work while I sweated over and over on-site every day. It was at that time that I became involved in the relocation and renovation plan for this shop.
I had a vague desire to do store design and at the time, I was reading a lot about store architecture, but not even knowing the meaning of design, I feverishly responded to the client’s requests. After the space was completed, I got married and left field work, and then worked in sales design for a home builder.
I worked there about 11 years. I longed for design, and now that design has become my profession, I am once again reminded of the essence of design. That is the answer from 20 years ago. Without this job, I would not be who I am today.
It goes without saying that this has value as a job, but this shop is also an important space to visit alone when I am lost or worried. The shop continues to operate as one loved by many regulars even today. And I am one of those regulars.
